Thomas Otto Carmichael (Tom) went to be with the LORD on August 6, 2023. Tom was preceded in death by parents Blake and Alice Carmichael, and brother Donn Carmichael. Tom is survived by Carole, his loving wife of 20 years, his brother Terry Carmichael (Susan), his son Sean Carmichael (Marta Morales), his daughter Shannon Carmichael Sosa; step-daughters Traci  Garrett (Greg) and Tammy Peacock-Werline (Chris); grandchildren Isabella, Christopher, and Gabriel Sosa, Mackenzie and Colby Smetzer, and Briley Werline.

Tom will be greatly missed by his family and lifelong friends formed through his passion of singing with the San Antonio Chordsmen and the Concordia Lutheran Church choir.

Tom was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 3, 1941, and graduated from Harlandale High School in 1959. Tom served as a Major in the United States Air Force for 21 years and received many awards for his service.

"Celebration of Life" will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10am at Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78258.

"Military Honor Ceremony" will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 10am at Shelter #4, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Let us all remember Tom fondly and hold our loved ones close, expressing our love at every opportunity. Tom's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.  We know he is now singing in Heaven.
