Obituary

Ronald Dwain Cooper, a remarkable man—a father, grandfather, friend, artist, musician, carpenter, and above all, a man with a genuinely kind heart passed away surrounded by family on June 2, 2026. He was Born on May 25, 1948, to parents Berdie and Marvin Cooper in Port Arthur, Texas. Ronald lived a life rich with creativity, compassion, and connection. Whether he was behind a drum set keeping rhythm, creating art with his hands, or building something beautiful through his craftsmanship as a carpenter, he approached life with quiet talent and an appreciation for making things better than he found them.

He was the kind of person who could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with new friends. People were naturally drawn to him. His easygoing nature, warm spirit, and genuine interest in others made everyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger—only friends he hadn't gotten to know yet.

In his younger years, he found joy in simple pleasures. He loved cooking meals for those he cared about and nurturing plants, watching them grow under his care. Those passions reflected who he was at his core: someone who loved to create, provide, and bring life and comfort to the people around him.

Most of all, he loved unconditionally. His heart was open, generous, and accepting. He gave his love freely and never asked for anything in return. His family was one of his greatest joys, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those fortunate enough to know him.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his kids, daughter Naomi and husband Daniel White, and son Caleb Cooper. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Victoria and husband Randell Graue, Gabriel White, Olivia White, and Savannah White, who will carry forward the lessons, love, and memories he shared. He is also survived by his sister Roxie Cooper and several nieces and nephews.

He is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved son Joshua Cooper, his brother Randie Cooper, and his parents Berdie and Marvin Cooper, who preceded him in death.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on—in the lives he touched, the friendships he made, the family he loved, and the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles through tears.

The family has asked for any donations to help with funeral expenses and a plaque to honor Ronald be made to the link below.
