San Antonio
Dr. Rolando Ordonez
Dr. Rolando Ordonez entered into eternal rest on September 11, 2026, at the age of 80, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 16, 1946, in Honduras to his parents, Jorge Ordonez and Justine Ordonez (Villa).
Rolando dedicated his life to serving God, teaching others, and sharing the knowledge and wisdom he gained throughout his life. For more than 40 years, he faithfully served as a pastor at Mision El Jordan, ministering to individuals, families, and communities and dedicating himself to helping others grow in their faith.
His passion for learning and teaching was evident throughout his life. He pursued and earned a bachelor's degree, two master's degrees, and a Ph.D. in Theology. He was a gifted teacher and a lifelong student who believed strongly in the importance of equipping others with knowledge.
His ministry extended far beyond his local community. Rolando traveled internationally conducting seminars and training pastors and church leaders throughout Europe, Central and South America, and Asia. Through these teachings, he encouraged and equipped countless pastors and ministry leaders, leaving an impact that reached well beyond the places where he personally served. His commitment to teaching others allowed his ministry and influence to continue through the many people he trained and mentored.
Outside of his ministry and teaching, Rolando enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, watching soccer, and tinkering with gadgets and technology. He had a naturally curious mind and enjoyed learning how things worked.
One of the greatest blessings of Rolando's life was the 58 years he shared with his beloved wife, Teodosa Ordonez. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, love, and service to others. Their 58 years together were filled with shared experiences, challenges, joys, and memories that became the foundation of the family they created. Teodosa was not only his beloved wife, but his lifelong companion as they walked together through more than five decades of life and ministry.
Family was an important part of Rolando's life. He leaves behind a legacy not only through his years of ministry and teaching, but also through the family he loved and the generations that will carry his memory forward.
Rolando is survived by his children, Oscar Ordonez, Carlos Ordonez, Rodduel Ordonez, Jenny De Los Santos, and Rolando Ordonez Jr.; his siblings, Oscar Ordonez, Graciela Weaver, and Jorge Ordonez; and his grandchildren, Oscar Jr., Elijah, Juliette, Isabella, Carlos Jr., Eliana, Joshua, Rodduel Jr., Kaila, Jeremiah, Chrystian, Alexandro, Mark, Rolando, Nathaniel, and Zemerah. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Rolando was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teodosa Ordonez.
Throughout more than four decades of ministry, Rolando devoted his life to serving God and serving others. His teachings, his wisdom, and the lives he touched will remain part of his lasting legacy. The pastors he trained, the students he taught, the people he ministered to, and most importantly, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends will continue to carry his memory forward.
He will be remembered as a devoted pastor, teacher, scholar, mentor, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, a man whose love for God, passion for learning, devotion to his family, and desire to help others shaped a life of purpose and service.
His earthly journey has come to an end, but the legacy of his faith, teachings, love, and 58 years of marriage will continue through the many lives he touched and the family he leaves behind.
May he rest in eternal peace.
