Obituary

Robert ("Bob") T. Mark, Sr., of Wimberley, Texas, passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Margaret (Whalen) Mark and Vernon T. Mark, he spent his early years in Philadelphia and Springfield, PA. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957 attaining the rank of First-Class Petty Officer (E5) prior to his honorable discharge. He graduated from Penn Morton College in 1969 with a B.S. in Engineering and worked for Philadelphia Electric Company until his retirement.

Over 66 years ago, Bob married the love of his life, Carol (nee Patterson), and they raised their 3 children in Glen Riddle, Pennsylvania. After retiring, they moved to Wimberley, Texas, and lived on a golf course for over 30 years. Bob was an avid golfer, and he and Carol also enjoyed many cruises around the world by themselves and eventually traveling with grandchildren. Bob's engineering mind kept him busy with fixing just about anything around the house and helping neighbors as well, especially with the emergence of personal computers. He was also very active throughout his life not only tinkering with electronics, but also enjoying tennis, platform tennis, camping, fishing, swimming, and especially golf.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his in-laws Jeffrey and Ruth (Spatz) Patterson, brother Vernon W. Mark, son-in-law Randy Jacobs, niece Suzanne Nicastro, and granddaughter Devyn Reiley. He is survived by his wife Carol and children, Robert (Tina) Mark, Robyn Jacobs, and Holly (Bruce) Collie. He is also survived by his siblings Ron (Jean) Mark, Peggy (Bruce) Thomas, Gail (Bud) Simon, sister-in-law Annemarie Mark, and 11 nieces and nephews. He was affectionately known as Pop-Pop to 17 grandchildren and Great-Pop to 20 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of San Marcos Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center and Nurse Practitioner Rebecca Nycz from Austin Geriatrics who all displayed such wonderful care and compassion during his final days.

Services will be private. The family requests any donations in his honor be made to The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, The Alzheimer's Association, The EmilyAnn Theater, or Wimberley Adoption Group & Dog Rescue (WAG).
