Rachel Lozano
Blaha
May 17, 1942 — Jun 7, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Rachel L. Blaha announces her passing after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the age of 82.
Rachel was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 17, 1942 to her parents Pablo and Victoria Lozano. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Rachel was active in student life and known for her beautiful singing voice as a member of the Mustang choir. Early in her adulthood, Rachel was a talented beautician and took pride in practicing her trade within her community. Eventually, Rachel's giving heart called her to work at Santa Rosa Hospital, in downtown San Antonio, where she met her husband of almost 48 years, Joe. Together they raised a blended family consisting of 6 children, which was her true life's work. Rachel continued her commitment to serving others in the healthcare field until her retirement.
Known for her kind heart and love of the Lord, Rachel will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Rachel should be remembered for the joy her caring and fun-loving personality brought to others throughout her life. She should be remembered as an avid sports lover who was an enthusiastic fan with unwavering support for her San Antonio Spurs and Chicago White Sox. She should be remembered as a devoted church member who shared her amazing voice in the choir, loved listening to Christian music, and read scripture daily. Mostly, she should be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister.
Rachel leaves her memory to her husband and best friend of almost 48 years, Joseph Blaha, her children Cosette Robles, Richard (Julia) Robles, Catherine Monks, Joy (Bill) Swann, Ginger (John) Fewins, and Gina Teets, her beloved grandchildren Ryan, Malia, Raeanna, Skylar, Mackenzie, Collin, Cade, Caleb, and Sydney, along with her great-grandchildren Noah, Elaina, and Natalia, also her sister Irene (Arturo) Fernandez, as well as her adored puppy, Baby.
She is united in Heaven with her parents, Pablo and Victoria Lozano, and her brothers Fernando Lozano and Porfirio Lozano.
