Obituary

Patricia Vaughan Hicks was born to Thomas A. Vaughan and Jewell Wendleton on October 13, 1936 in Seguin, Tx. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1954, where she played trumpet in the Mustang band, she met and married the love of her life, John Walker Hicks, Jr.

Patricia went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 19, 2020 at the age of 83, where she will be reunited with her son Scotty, husband Jimmy, mother and father, 2 brothers Tommy and Richard, and son-in-law Chuck.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Hicks and his wife Donna, daughter Robin Calder, grandchildren Ernie Burton, Sydney Walker, Daillon and Kyleigh McDonald, great grandchildren Callan and Daniel, longtime friend Roy Tshirhart, friend and caregiver Nicole Varga and family and her precious fur baby Scooter.

Our mom was a strong woman. Her entire life was a continuous challenge that she faced head on with perseverance and determination in her own unique style, the same way she fought this last battle of her life. She will remain in our hearts forever and always.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in memory of Patricia to the following organizations, ASPCA ( www.aspca.org ), St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ) or the Veterans Assistance Dogs of Texas ( www.vadogs.org ).
