Garcia
May 15, 1965 — Aug 23, 2023
SAN ANTONIO
Luis joined the Lord, his mother, parents, and brother on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.
Luis was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 15th, 1965. He graduated from Lanier High School in 1983.
Luis was a loving father, brother, and uncle. He prioritized time with his family over everything else, and was tremendously proud of his daughter, nieces and, nephews. He was ridiculously funny and THE biggest Spurs fan on the planet. He was also a huge animal lover and would have no shame singing out loud, regardless of who was listening.
He worked at Fort Sam Houston as a Facility Services Assistant for the 502nd Civil Engineer Squadron. He was dedicated to serving others in support of their missions across Joint Base San Antonio for over twenty years.
Luis was preceded in death by his mother Olivia Garcia, parents Eva and Adam Barrientes and brother Adam Barrientes Jr.
Luis is survived by his daughter Sofia Garcia, sisters Alice Barrientes Martinez, Olga Perez, and Carmen Duron, brothers Victor Barrientes, Tommy Barrientes, and Daniel Garcia.
The Rosary following a mass for Luis will be held Thursday September 7th at 9:15am at San Juan Shrine 3231 El Paso San Antonio Tx 78207.
If you'd like to send flowers, please send them to the church by September 6th.
Luis will be remembered fondly. In his honor, please hold your loved ones close every chance you can, express your love for them, and take a moment to sing. Also, go spurs go.
