Obituary

Karen Diann LoBasso, 65, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away to be with the Lord Jesus on March 24, 2025, after suffering a severe stroke. Born on February 10, 1960, in Miami, Florida, Karen's life was a testament of selfless love, modeling a servant's heart for all of those around her. She served her country honorably in the United States Air Force.

Karen and her husband Thomas were married for over 41 years, their love story beginning at Tree of Life Church in 1982. Karen often expressed that her greatest legacy was her three adoring children and six beautiful grandchildren, to whom she modeled the selfless love that characterized her life. Her love extended to her son-in-law and daughters-in-law as well.

Known for her love, devotion, loyalty, compassion, humility, and selflessness, Karen was always more concerned with the welfare of others over her own. She credited Jesus for molding and shaping her, always giving God glory in all things. An avid reader and lover of the outdoors and traveling, Karen was always excited to experience new places. Her organizational skills and gift of serving others were evident in the way she'd clean, organize, and tidy-up for those in her care. Endearingly called Kare-bear by her son-in-law Austin and Nonna by her grandchildren, Karen was many things to many people, but her family was always most important and dear to her heart. Everyone felt loved when she was near, and that love is reciprocated by the mourning family and friends she leaves behind.

Karen is survived by her devoted husband Thomas, their three children Matthew, Andrew, and Kathleen, her children-in-law Alison, Austin, and Amanda, her six grandchildren Alaina, Levi, Judah, Ezra, Yasmin, and Roman, and her sister Laura.

A military ceremony will be held in her honor at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on April 2, 2025.
