Joel Tovar Garcia went to be with The Lord April 25, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Joel was born November 11, 1936, in Seguin, Texas to parents Pedro and Juanita Garcia.

Joel is survived by his wife of 61 years, Olga F. Garcia; sons Marcos A. Garcia and wife Rosemary C. Garcia, Moises F. Garcia and wife Bertha Garcia, Mario F. Garcia and wife Cynthia G. Garcia; grandchildren Alisia M. Alcantar, Siera R. Garcia, Isabella A. Martinez with husband Jakob Martinez, Gregory A. Garcia, Moises F. Garcia; great grandchildren Nicholas I. Martinez, Christopher G. Rodriguez, Dominic P. Rodriguez, Melanie N. Bermejo, Jackson Joel Martinez, Leilani Martinez Ava G. Martinez; and sister Ofelia Solis.

A visitation will be held at Templo El Tabernaculo (1435 Chihuahua St, San Antonio, Tx 78207) on Thursday April 30th, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday May 1st, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with the interment at Mission Park Burial South.
