oanne Guynes Hillestad, beloved wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother, stepped into eternal rest on September 14, 2014. She was a dedicated RN specializing in Labor & Delivery. Joanne met her husband Parnell "Pete" Hillestad in August of 1985. They were married in December 1985 & were together 29 years. They lived overseas for 10 years in Europe & the Middle East where she continued her nursing career at local hospitals. Working with Midwives from the British Isles, Canada & Australia greatly increased her working experience. They traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Far East & Australia. Joanne was a graduate of Mathis High School & attended Delmar College. She was preceded in death by her brother John Michael Guynes & her parents Dr. William Allison Guynes,Sr and Rebecca Edmunds Guynes. Joanne's memory will be forever treasured by her beloved husband & children Amos, Allison Anne, Rebecca & Damion; brother Dr. William Allison Guynes, Jr. & sister-in-law Catherine Guynes, 4 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild. Joanne, a breast cancer survivor, desired that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Joanne, your loving family & friends miss you greatly.
