J. Andrew Freeborn went to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 20, 2011. Born July 24, 1931, in Seattle, WA, Andrew began preaching at the age of 15, and continued preaching for 64 years. He earned his BA and MA from Bob Jones University. He pioneered a church in Redding, CA, and pastored numerous other churches, as well as evangelized throughout the USA. He, also, taught at International Bible College in San Antonio, TX, for 18 years. He was a great preacher, teacher, musician, singer, and evangelist, as well as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all of his family as well as his colleagues and students, but we rejoice that he is shouting on the streets of heaven and we will see him again some day. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Bernice, the mother of his children, Dorrlene, and his brother, David. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, daughter Karen and husband Dan, son Michael, daughter Donna, son David and wife Darla, 14 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Viewing will be Thursday, March 24, 2011, 6 – 8 p.m. at International Bible Church, 2369 Benrus Blvd., San Antonio, TX 78228. Funeral Service will be Friday, March 25, 2011, 10 a.m. at International Bible Church with a 2 p.m. graveside service with military honors at Sunset Memorial Park, 1550 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218.
