Jacobo Obed Ortiz, 51 years of age, passed away after a lengthy illness on February 20, 2011. Jacob was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 1, 1959. Jacob was the youngest son of Ramiro and Rebecca Ortiz. He is survived by his mother and four older siblings: Martin R. Ortiz, Rebecca O. Ortiz, Anna E. Ortiz, and Priscilla A. Ortiz. He is also survived by Esther and Ruben Gonzalez of Mission, Texas and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Viewing will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by a service at 11:00 A.M., officiated by Pastor Jose M. Gonzalez, on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Palo Alto United Methodist Church, 3002 Reforma. Music will be performed by pianist Eluid Rios. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #3. The family requests that donations be made to Palo Alto United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
