Obituary

With profound sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of our loving brother, Isaac Medrano. Isaac was born on September 2nd, 1977 in San Antonio, Texas to Martin Medrano Sr.and Matiana Pinales Medrano. Isaac is preceded in death by both of his loving parents. He is survived by his four sisters and three brothers: Margarita Morales and husband, Joe, Norma Esther Benavidez, Christy Gonzales, Janey Davila & husband Armando, Martin Medrano jr. & wife, Letty, Fernando Medrano & wife, Sandra and David Medrano. In addition, he had many nieces and nephews including Melanie Bates, Bonnie Bates, Oscar Bates Jr., Roland Benavidez, Kimberly Benavidez, Priscilla Benavidez, Cherrie Gonzales, Christopher M. Gonzales, Nathaniel
Medrano, Joel Medrano and Julian Medrano.

Isaac grew up in San Antonio and graduated in 1998 from Southside High School. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's witnesses on March 25,1989 and his love for Jehovah never wavered as expressed by him thanking Jehovah for his meals even during his final days last week. As he grew older, Isaac was known to be a beautiful person, inside and out. Whether he was in the door-to-door ministry or if he was out and about, he would always be friendly and strike up conversations with anyone. He had the potential to aid others and was able to empathize with anyone that was struggling, because he had been through many of his own. Janey mentioned that what she observed that he got from our mom and dad was that particular ability to talk to anyone. To Isaac, talking to people was as if they were sitting on the porch having a conversation, and if he did not know much about your hobbies, he would ask "what's your favorite food?" In fact, one of the things Isaac was fond of was his barbecuing. He willingly called himself a pit master, and on a couple of occasions, David came home to a house full of guests that Isaac had invited over as he had set up a BBQ event. As far as hobbies or joys we all know that he loved karaoke and dancing. In particular, Ralphie and Margaret described how Isaac was always a cheerful person whether he was feeling good or even when he was sick coming out to play with the kids as he himself was a big kid at heart. Margaret and Ralphie wanted to convey to us that we can't be sad because Isaac would want us to be happy and he would want us to fill our faces with delicious food!

Regarding Isaac's compassion throughout his life, Isaac touched the lives of many with his many acts of lovingkindness. He even on one occasion assisted in saving the life of a young boy who almost drowned and once gave a waitress a very generous tip to which she expressed her heartfelt appreciation with tears in her eyes, as her car had just broken down and needed money to do the necessary car repairs. On another occasion when one of his sister-in-law's mom had passed away, she expressed that out of all the calls that she had received from her friends offering her comfort, the call she received from him was the sweetest and most sincere with his choice of words and thoughts of compassion even offering to share our own mother with her. Those expressions are what brought her the most comfort that she still remembers today. If you ask anybody, they will tell you that Isaac was a very loving person with a caring heart. We as a family want to express our sincerest appreciation to David, Janey and Christy as they did a tremendous job of caring for Isaac during his final days.
