Beth
Michalak
Aug 27, 1963 — Apr 20, 2024
Beth Marie Michalak, age 60, passed away unexpectedly after experiencing a terminal brain aneurysm in her home in San Antonio, Texas. Surrounded by her children and her fiancé, she was removed from life support on Saturday, April 20th at 3:43pm, passing pain-free through heaven's gates and greeted by the warm embrace of her loving mother, Patricia Motyka, who preceded her in death in December 2023.
Beth is survived by her fiancé Joe Flores; father Robert Michalak; stepfather Ronald Motyka (who nicknamed her "Beemie"); daughters Leah Garrison (James) & Ashley Keasal (Neil); sons Martin Alan Keasal Jr. (Bryan) & Mark Keasal; sisters Lisa Motyka (James) & Debbie Motyka-Iott (Mike); brothers Michael Michalak and Robert Patrick Michalak; nieces Allisa Michalak & Milly Iott; nephews Seth Michalak & Mikey Iott, and nine grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Ava Moenaert, Adrianna & Aurora Garrison, Cain & Ryoko Keasal, McKinzie Fox, Kaidence Keasal, and Kora-Leigh & Roman Marecle. Beth was preceded in death by her mother, her nephew Calvin Michalak (2014), her dear friend Stan Koziol (2008), and her companion dog and 5th child Maizey Mae (2022); words cannot express how much sweet Maizey meant to her.
Beth was born on August 27, 1963 in Wyandotte, MI and spent her first 8 years in the Metro-Detroit area. Seeking a quieter setting to raise their growing family, Pat and Ron moved to the "Mulvaney Farm" just outside the Village of Brooklyn, MI. Beth was a member of the 4-H Club Horse Program and attended Columbia Schools where she enjoyed cheerleading and playing volleyball. In her 20's, Beth became a certified Dental Hygienist and had four children with her former husband Martin A. Keasal. Her unwavering love she had for her kids, grandkids, animals, nature, Betty Boop, Harley's and rock-n-roll kept her spirits up when times were hard. In 2015, she met her fiancé Joe while living in Texas. They both shared a passion for "treasure-hunting" on the Riverwalk and both felt extremely blessed to have found each other.
Lisa: "Beth was the gorgeous older sister I always wanted to follow around. She defended me on the bus rides to school and showed me how to ride a horse, barrel race, and celebrate my ribbons. She made rock-n-roll cool and there wasn't a rock-n-roll song that she couldn't sing every word to. Please watch over me. I was not ready. I will miss you." #theycallmethebreeze
Debbie: "My big sister Beth was fiercely loyal and she loved with an unmatched intensity. If she thought those she loved were being wronged, she was fearless in defending them. She was strong, brave, protective and had a very big heart. She was also a wonderful aunt to my children. She was very kind and gentle with them, and really grew to know them well. She cared enough to learn their differences, and she truly appreciated (and got a big kick out of) their totally opposite little personalities. Beth was dealt an extraordinarily difficult hand in life, and sometimes I marvel at how she was able to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Even though she wasn't always able to show it, I believe it was her faith in God and her love for her family that kept her going. I love you deeply, sister, and will keep our special memories close to my heart until we meet again. May you finally rest in your Heavenly home wrapped in warmth, love, joy, and peace."
Leah: "Watching my mom face decades of adversity inspired me to try to be the best mother to my own children that I possibly could be. She was a sight to behold when there was a child in her presence. She knew exactly how to soothe them, make them smile and ignite their imagination. She worked hard, played hard, fought hard and loved hard."
Alan: "Mom was kind and funny. She always had a story to tell and by the end we would all be laughing. When I was a teenager, she was dedicated to feeding my friends and I, even though we never had much. I appreciate all that she did for me. I hope she has found peace."
Mark: "My mom always loved a good joke and surrounded herself with light-hearted people who know how to enjoy life. For all her challenges, she became a champion and a voice for other people with MS and was also involved with the Wounded Warrior Project. Despite my mother's religious beliefs, she never forced me to believe anything I didn't want to. She allowed me to find my own way in life, taught me that all life is valuable and that it is not my place to judge others. I appreciate the freedom she gave me in my youth as it allowed my mind to grow beyond the small town I grew up in.
Ashley: "My mom had the ability to make everyone laugh just by making faces. She loved her family, her grandkids, and taking her dog Maizey for walks and for car rides. She loved coffee and had to have a "pop" at all times. My mom taught me how to see the best in people, and not to be judgmental of anyone's circumstances.
Beth struggled enough for ten lifetimes. No more broken body. No more pain. Nothing but God's pure love. May her soul be free, joining the choirs of heaven belting out all the hymns and rock-n-roll songs her heart desires. We love you.
