Amalia "Molly" Vara entered her eternal resting place on January 10, 2026, at the age of 73. She was born on October 29, 1952, to parents Arnulfo Villapando and Ernestina Villarreal in San Antonio, Texas. Amalia will be remembered as a party lover, bud light in one hand and a cigarette in the other. She enjoyed watching sports, some of her favorites being The San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys.

Amalia is survived by her husband, Jesse Vara; daughter, Alicia Ortiz (Aldolfo); five grandchildren, Desirae, Ashlie (Derrick Lowman), Paul Jr., Kayla, Alexis; nine great grandchildren; siblings, David, Johnny, Freddy, Patricia, Elizabeth, Eliza and Frank; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Paul) and brother-in-law Arnold (Josie).  As well as numerous other family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernestina Luna and Juan A. Luna; siblings, Dora Brooks and Abel.

A private family viewing will take place; please contact the family for information.

The family requested any monetary donations be made to St. Judes Children Hospital instead of given to the family.
